Oscar Schmidt Ukuleles

Oscar Schmidt Ukuleles

The Oscar Schmidt Company was founded in 1871 and incorporated in 1911, emerging as the leader in traditional and folk music. Particularly popular in the rural South and Appalachia, Oscar Schmidt prospered through the roaring 20s. They were inexpensive, locally available, but more importantly, they had superior tone and volume. Influenced by the cool grooves of the hot, tropical islands, Oscar Schmidt began manufacturing ukuleles in an array of artisan woods. Oscar Schmidt’s ukuleles embrace the Aloha Spirit of Hawaii and reverberate with all of the island colors. Over the years, Oscar Schmidt has quickly become synonymous with quality ukuleles through its dedication to provide unique attributes to suit any player.

Oscar Schmidt Ukuleles’ diverse offerings include soprano, tenor, concert and baritone styles, which are built in a variety of classic and stunning tone woods: mahogany, Hawaiian Koa, spalted mango, spalted maple and spruce. All ukuleles are built with stylish mother of pearl or abalone inlays and feature Aquila or GHS strings.
